Guided Walks
At Lake Brunner Lodge we operate exclusive walks with our guests to learn the secrets of the West Coast's forests and history. From the lodge a range of guided walks are available. The most popular are the one hour walk to Carew Falls behind the lodge, passing Rimu and Matai trees hundreds of years old and our evening walk to find native glow worms. The Carew Falls walk is scheduled daily at 5pm and the glow worm walk is available every second night, weather permitting. Being developed are exclusive walks on the lodge’s huge station.
Activities
Lake Brunner Lodge has mountain bikes and kayaks for guests. Cycle eastwards or kayak to the hauntingly beautiful Orangipuku river delta. Excellent birding includes a possibility of sighting rare birds such as Kotuku/White Heron. Try mountain biking to Moana Township, across the other side of lake from the lodge, this half day trip could include an optional return by boat. The lodge's private station and spacious grounds are ideal for photography and birding expeditions.
