By Car:
Scenic drives from Nelson, Christchurch or Wanaka, are achievable in a single day, each route has individual attractions. The touring routes page includes sightseeing opportunities and suggested drive times.
By Train:
Rated as one of the best train journeys in the world, the TranzAlpine is a daily scheduled rail trip from Christchurch through high altitude Arthur's Pass. The stop at nearby Jackson's is by request only and it is essential to pre-book the stop.
Internationally by air:
Fly to Christchurch International Airport, only 3hrs drive to Lake Brunner Lodge. Or take a connecting domestic flight on to nearby Hokitika.
By air to local Hokitika Airport:
From Christchurch Airport fly to Hokitika with Air New Zealand link, domestic service. From Hokitika airport, take a rental car, or arrange for the lodge manger to pick you up. From Hokitika the journey is 50 minutes.
